One night not so long ago
He walked away and disappeared
I didn't think about it
I should've said something
I should've done something
Stopped him from leaving
But I didn't know
That I'd miss him so
I didn't think about it
Until long after he was gone
I didn't understand
What had slipped from my hand
Until I called him up
And in the rush of a hurricane
I discovered in his silence
I'd given my heart to the wrong one

One night not so long ago
He came back and a sliver of hope appeared
I didn't need to think about it
I had to go to the show
I needed to let him know
Get him to change his mind
But I didn't know
That I loved him so
I didn't think about it
Until he turned and looked my way
I didn't understand
What was happening to me
Until our eyes met
And everything stopped and disappeared
I discovered in his eyes
I'd given my love to the wrong one
