I Wonder...(poem)

As the sun begins its slow climb
I watch as it brings the world to life
Reflecting its light upon the morning dew
I watch the colors stretch across the sky
Instinctively my mind begins to think of you
I wonder if you ever think of me
If you've even considered the possibilities
Of what it would be like for you and me
My mind reflects on the times we've shared
It's hard to believe that you just don't care
I wish to believe that you're just scared
As scared as I still am but I don't want to
Lose this once in a lifetime chance for love
I don't know if you are the one
I would love to be able to find out
Though you have long disappeared


I swear sometime I can feel you here
Standing beside me as if you never left
I wonder if I ever cross your mind
As you sink into your dreams at night
Just like the way you do mine
As I sip slowly on a hot cup of coffee
I wonder if you are my destiny
Everything in me screams we're meant to be
I get so strangely happy
When I think of you coming my way
I cross my fingers and hope I'll get to see that day
Oh I do wonder....
