Something About Him (poem)

I know he is long gone,
but something about him keeps holding on,
I go into a frenzy forgetting,
all that I'm suppose to be doing,
His penetrating eyes,
haunt me in the night,
I know that I can't go on like this,
Something has got to give,
I know that we were only friends,
It kills me that it came to an end,
When I only wanted to try him on for size.







Still can't get him out of my mind,
It's driving me insane,
hearing his name,
seeing his face everywhere I go,
wishing I could just let him go sometimes,
though I hold on tight,
Unable to stop what I feel inside,
I know that he is long gone,
but something about him keeps holding on.
