Long Gone (poem)

You are long gone
Don't want nothing to do with me anymore
Its pretty loud and clear
Your silence still lingers cold at the door
Yet, you are every where
Its like your face is tattooed to the inside of my brain
No matter how hard I fight it, can't push it away
I have tried so hard to forget all of it
I don't know what it is you've got
I've already done peeled pages from the book of excuses
Every angle and line points to you
I seem to be absolutely certain
It should have been you all along
But now you are gone
I wanted to tell you
You just didn't give me a chance
Everything blew up
So I took what I could and wrote it down
Into a letter that I placed in your hand
It was my chance to make things right
You needed to know how I feel
And even though you're in my sleep
Every night its you that I see
You are long gone
