Down This Road (poem)

I know I've been down this road before
Something about you won't let go
How can you just walk out of my life
Wasn't that love reflecting in your eyes
Don't you dare tell me to deny
The way that I've been feeling
When my body and soul is aching
You crawl up and slither in
You've crawled up underneath my skin
No matter what I try to do
I just can not shake off you
Its been a year and a half
Since the night you got up and just left
With every single passing day
I find myself only wanting you more

I know I've been down this road before
Something about you keeps holding on
How can you just say goodbye
Wasn't that desire reflecting in your eyes
Don't you dare tell me to forget
The night that we met or the times we spent
You crawl up and slither in
You've crawled up underneath my skin
No matter how hard I fight
I can not get you out of my mind
Its been six months since you walked out
With every waking moment
There is not a single doubt
I know I've not been down this road before
