Fool (poem)

Am I a fool
To have ever thought he was special
To have thought there was more to him
Than what he chose to reveal
I've seen the fire and pain behind those eyes
I've seen the loneliness within their depths
Am I a fool to think he could comprehend
How I long for the touch of his hand
Does he know how much it hurts
To watch him walk away
My heart aches with every step he takes
Am I a fool to think he would ever
Know the look in his eyes made me quiver
I would give up forever just to have
One night to touch him
To hold him tight
Could dreams really come true
Or am I just a fool
