Can't Forget You (long poem)

I can't forget you no matter what I do

I'm always thinking of you

It drives me insane

The mere utter of your name

And I'm not sure if I want to cry or cheer

I have looked around for somebody new

Yet, nothing has come close to comparing to you

Its not fair

I didn't ask for this

I didn't ask to develop feelings 

It just happened

Its like one minute

I was sinking into my own solitude

Numb and frozen on the inside

Chasing after dreams 

That were just not in my reach 

Then one night out of the blue

In walked you

I didn't even have a clue

We clicked right from the start

No promises 

No questions asked

Just an understanding 

That neither of us had recognized

Suddenly there was a light

Shinning into my inner hell

Breaking me open like a shell

The night you walked out of my life

You walked into my dreams

And you haven't left yet

Though physically you are gone

Your spirit follows me everywhere I go

Its there lingering in the shadows

I can't let you go

This I now know

I have come to realize

That what I feel inside

Nations have been slain for

Books, movies and songs have been written

And sung for what I saw in your eyes

There is definitely something between us

And I feel life is not through with us

You and I are not finished

I honestly can't say if we are destined to be lovers

But I do feel we were destined to be together

So no I can't forget you

Though at the moment it leaves me confused

Forgetting you is utterly impossible
