I Miss You (a friendship poem)

Time has gone by so fast that's for sure
The line of our friendship has been severed
Our time together was great while it lasted
I enjoyed the masterpiece we had crafted
I've already done given up on being lovers
Its just not in the cards not at this time
Maybe somewhere down the line
I would much rather have you as a friend
Than not have in my life at all
I miss being able to give you a call
Indeed I do love you with all my heart
I wish we could just go back to the start
Back to where you and I had begun
If only all the wrong could just be undone
Like loosening the string on a tie or shoe
What I'm really trying to say is I miss you
