Only You (poem)

I love you for the man who sat down next to me,
for the man who befriended me in my time of need,
who didn't ask or promise a single thing,
he just sat down and smiled,
one minute you were here and the next you were gone,
I saw your eyes go wide and bright,
standing there before me that night,
suddenly there was only you,
nothing else mattered,
for the first time I felt alive inside,
everything just stopped, stood still,
there was only you
I love you for your eyes,
the way they melted into mine,
for the lines and curves of your face,
I could sit for hours and trace it with my fingers,
to run my fingers through your hair
and feel each silky strand caressing my skin.
I can't help but smile every time I think of you,
There is just simply something about you that I can not shake,
I close my eyes and I can see you
as if you were standing in front of me all over again,
I'd walk across the scorching hot desert naked and barefoot,
just to sit down next to you, to touch you just once
don't ask me why for I have no reasons for you,
just this constant aching in my soul, there is only you
